Play

Meeting play in all its forms, from child initiated, open ended, creative, small figure, sand and nature play outside, to risky and adult led play. All these  themes are covered in these articles at a time when play is being pushed out of the children’s day in early childhood settings worldwide. Waldorf settings provide enough time for this, but we need to know what it really looks like, and what the child gains through free child initiated play.

Giving workshops on play is also covered, as is parents evenings on play. Instructions for a play pit and herb garden.

The crafts include making dove kites, puppet shows including songs, instructions, illustrations and directions from the birthday story ‘where do I come from?’ The Brave Little Taylor as a puppet show or ring time.
