Birth to Three, Parent and Child

The care and protection of the very young child, and research on attachment in the first year is raised: What is unique to mothering in the first year? How much does the level of maternal support affect the physical development of the hippocampus, the region of the brain concerned with memory, emotional regulation and stress modulation? For the developing child, lack of this maternal support, has shown to result in depression, allergies, lack of nurturing and instinctive response all of which affect not only the child, but future generations. Mothering and support for parents is covered, looking at how we can repair, redeem or heal through our striving to bring love and joy in ‘being’ with the child in our work and play. Parent and Child work features strongly.
